October Students of the Month
Nicky Trautsch, 12th grade student and the daughter of Tim and Carol Trautsch is the October High School Student of the Month. Nicky was nominated for this award because of her hard work and time management skills for getting her work done on time. She is resourceful in asking questions and through technology during this challenging time. She is helpful to her classmates and has a great attitude. She has set a high standard completing and achieving her goals through rigorous classes. Nicky is involved in National Honors Society, SHARE, FFA, Student Council, Art Club, volleyball, basketball, and softball.
Gabriel Hamann, 8th grade student and the son of Gary and Kelly Hamann is the Middle School Student of the Month. Gabriel was nominated for this award by his peers who state that he is a really good student who gets all of his work in on time and in between classes he prepares his materials or reads. He is nice to everyone and tries to put a lot of effort into everything he does. He’s a really good example for other students.
Layla Olson, 5th grade student and the daughter of Rob and Brandee Olson is the Elementary Student of the Month. Layla’s teacher, Miss Welsh described Layla as always being polite to both her peers and teachers. She works hard and follows directions. Layla is honest and willing to help those around her. She is very kind and considerate to those around her.
Broc Becwar, 2nd grade student in Mrs. Boone’s classroom and the son of Darren and Chelstie Becwar is the October Elementary Student of the Month. Broc is a kind boy who is always willing to lend a helping hand to adults and his peers. He is a friend to all. His energetic personality and big smile are sure to brighten up your day. Broc is a hard worker and strives to do his best work at all times. His love for learning shines throughout our classroom. He is always eager and willing to participate and ask questions in class. Broc has a strong desire to do his neatest work. His honesty is the perfect example to those around him. Broc is an outstanding student, friend, and role model in our school.

This message is to notify you that in the past day, students or staff members at the Seneca Area School District have tested positive for COVID-19. We are actively working with the Crawford County Health Department to determine who may have been in close contact with those persons. As of this time, any persons who we feel were close contacts have been notified. If we find additional close contacts may have been made, we will make those persons aware at that time. We have no confirmed transmission of the virus within the school environment at this time. So far this school year, we have had 14 persons test positive for Covid while at school, and 11 have recovered.
4th grade students at Seneca Elementary should participate virtually tomorrow (Thursday, December 17) and not attend in person.

Reminder to students and parents that in-person instruction for grades PreK thru 12 will resume Monday, December 7 as planned. In the middle school and high school, Group C (yellow) will be virtual that day.
Reminder that all students will be participating in school virtually this week, from Tuesday, Dec 1 thru Friday, Dec 4. There will be NO early release on Thursday, Dec 3 as was noted on the school calendar earlier.
Reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL Nov. 25th through Nov. 30th. ALL students will resume classes VIRTUALLY December 1st-5th. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Due to Covid concerns, please do not send treats to school for your child's classmates for holidays or birthdays. If you contact the school a few days in advance, the teachers have a list of treats which we can then provide for your child's special events.
The Ag Structures class has been busy making picnic tables. These heavy duty tables are available for purchase. The cost is $180.00 per table. Please contact the school or Mrs. Kramer if you are interested.
