Seneca Area School District Superintendent Vacancy
The Seneca Area School District is accepting applications for a full time District Administrator, beginning July 1, 2025.
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from an accredited university and be certified by the Wisconsin DPI for the Superintendency. Job candidates who are working toward their degree and certification will be considered.
Job Summary:
The District Administrator, in consultation with the Board of Education, is responsible for setting the goals of the District. The District Administrator must be able to effectively oversee the annual budget, and provide the most complete information available for the Board to make both short term and long term budgetary decisions. The Administrator is responsible for representing the District in a professional manner at all times.
Supervisory Duties:
The District Administrator shall be responsible for evaluating all supervisory and administrative personnel, and for evaluation of all professional teaching staff under the guidelines laid out by the Board of Education.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain all necessary and required records for the District.
Submits accurate and timely reports to the DPI, and all other state and federal agencies.
Coordinate safety and crisis activities, and establish viable procedures for emergency situations.
Understand laws and changes to the law that affect the District.
Is responsible, in concert with the Board, for interviewing and recommending candidates for job openings.
Is responsible for assignment of professional and support staff using their talents and experiences as best as possible.
Shall be the professional leader of all school District personnel, taking the lead for all meetings and informing employees of their job duties and responsibilities.
Is responsible for establishing and maintaining a student discipline program.
Is responsible for promoting an effective system of student guidance, and for maintaining high standards of student courtesy towards peers and staff.
Is responsible for formulating and establishing the academic schedule, and evaluating for improvement.
Prepares and distributes agendas and related materials for Board meetings, with input from the Board.
Is responsible for following and executing all policies instituted by the Board in relation to the operation of the school district.
Determine long range facilities needs and usage.
Will assist in developing a yearly budget, and in consultation with the Board oversee the budget.
Conduct needs assessments in cooperation with the Board, staff, and community.
Is able to act on their own discretion if necessary in matters not covered by Board policy, and then report back to the Board.
Will represent the District in a positive light in all school related endeavors.
Principal duties as assigned by the Board.
Any other duties assigned by the Board of Education.
